License paths and tiers
The complete public shadcn-qt package has two alternative license paths:
| Path | Intended use | Key requirement |
|---|---|---|
| GPL-3.0-only | GPL-compatible open-source applications | Comply with GPLv3, including corresponding-source and combined-work obligations when distributing |
| Commercial | Proprietary applications | Hold a valid Order Form for every active developer seat |
| Evaluation | Internal evaluation | No production development or distribution; stop at the stated date |
The standard commercial grant allows unlimited applications and end-user copies with no runtime royalty. A customer buys developer seats and an update period. The package does not use online activation: the Order Form or license certificate is proof of entitlement.
Downloading from PyPI does not itself grant commercial rights. A shadcn-qt license also does not include Qt, PySide, or PyQt rights. See Licensing and dependencies for the complete decision guide.
shadcn-qt-pro is a separately ordered private distribution using the shadcn_qt_pro import name. The public shadcn_qt.pro namespace only forwards to it when installed. A Core commercial license does not include Pro access; the Order Form and signed certificate define Pro features, seats, versions, and the update period.
